Saturday, December 8th was a busy day for the Rotary Club of Rocklin/Loomis Basin. At 8am, 12 of our Rotarians and six guests showed up at Gary Doupkin Manufacturing to help with the Loomis Basin Christmas Basket Program.

First, we worked hard sorting hundreds of bags and boxes of food onto tables that we set up in a warehouse. Once the food was sorted, everyone lined up to grab a box of specific food items, and placed a certain amount of each item into over 400 boxes. The boxes of food that we helped create were distributed to needy families in Loomis and Rocklin the next day.

Then at 3:45pm, eight of our Rotarians got together at St. Mary’s Church on Front Street in Rocklin for the 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting. In addition to our Rotarians, Interactors from both Rocklin High and Del Oro came out to help. During the evening, we served free cookies, hot chocolate, and coffee to people who attended the event.  The Interactors helped supervise the Bouncy House.

After a long day, we can be proud of our support for our communities.
